• state science fair...again!

  I know I made a blog entry about state science fair, but that was last year, and guess what, I made it to state science fair, again! I worked very hard for it and had to redo my project board like 3 times so yeah. At county my presentation sucked but my project and the board was good enough to stand up for itself so I got 1st place in my category and advanced to state science fair, how awesome is that? 2 yrs in a row ftw :D!!

• Rubiks cubes...

  I should've made this blog entry about 1 year ago because that is when it all started. I first learned how to solve a rubiks cube in october 2007. My avg was around 1:40 and my record was 1 min 23 sec in the first month. 1 month later, my avg was in the low minutes and my record was 42 seconds. around the end of march, my average was in the 50's and by the end of april it was around 37ish... now... 6 months later, my average is 23 seconds, best lucky time was 11 seconds and best nonlucky time was 17 seconds. Here are the different puzzles I can solve:

  Here are my averages for different puzzles:
  
  2x2x2 avg: 10.xx
  3x3x3 avg: 23-24
  4x4x4 avg: 2:30
  5x5x5 avg- 5:xx
  7x7x7 avg: 24:xx.xx

  (note: x's represent variables not recorded, for example 10.xx can be 10.72, 10.68.etc, it basically represents a value not present)

  other events: I can solve a 3x3 blindfold. My average is around 5 minutes including memorization
  3x3 bld avg: 5:xx.xx

  I also just started doing one handed (OH for short):

  3x3 OH: 1:19.xx

• * yeah!!! I made it to state in science fair!!!

  Today in county fair, I did a very good presentation and was among the top 5 out of like 50 projects/presentation for science fair from all around the county and won like 3 awards and advanced to State fair. I also got $100!!

  State fair is in April so wish me good luck!!

   Btw just in case U R wondering, my science fair project is called: In what ways can a virtual calculator made with C, C++, and Flash be more advanced than a basic calculator that is in the computer science field. If I get to international then I can get thousand's of dollars!!!

• Computer Programming

  I wont really be on this website any more because school has started. As an added bonus, I have found a new hobby, computer programming. I already know all of the basics of HTML(and some of the complicated stuff too) and also know how to pretty much make a simple website. So now I am starting on a new language called C. After that I will learn C++, a more advanced and complicated version of C. Its really hard and not only do you have to read books that have more than 1000 pages but also memorize the coding it tells you. I know this because my friend is an expert at doing C, C++ and also knows how to make games with them. If u are interested you could contact me via email (shafiqdms@yahoo.com) . Just tell me that you are from hokagesroom so I would know. You dont have to be like an adult to learn this stuff (even though its complicated) because My friend and I are only in high school

• UNH Dream team

  I chose this team for several reasons and each persons unique strenghts and personalities. kakashi is a strong leader. He has better sharingan than sasuke, better taijutsu than lee, and is smarter than shikamaru, as stated by sakura in shippuden. Naruto has the power of the nine-tailed fox (or atleast the chakra), can summon boss toad, and do rasengan, and strives to be hokage one day. Hinata works best when Naruto is around, and her Byakugan can come to good use and help them. So there, thats why I chose them.

  Take a look at this grid:

   

   

  
  Did you notice the small grayish dots between the black boxes. They are not part of the drawing - they were put there by your brain! Scientists call this "visual vibration." Basically it means that when you see patterns of black and white, your eye sometimes confuses the two and blends them into patterns of gray that you see here. You are seeing something that is not really there!

• Summer Reading project

  Well now that I am starting on my summer project, I only have 2 weeks before school starts (august 5th). Now that I take a look at it, it looks more complicated then I thought it was. Here are the facts:

  1)Read the book Mythology about greek myths which is 330 pages long. For some people its too much but for me it isn't that long since I have read books that have over 600+ pages. 

   

  2)Then I have to write an essay that should be about 2-4 pages long (maybe more) and it has to be about the heroes before the trojan war, their adventure, and the heroes of the trojan war, and their story

  30 Last but not the least, I have to create 4 posters about a creational myth, a love myth, an adventure myth, and a heroic myth. which has to have a whole bunch of information and 25 vocabulary words.

   One way you can describe me as a character is shikamaru: Lazy but smart. Some people I know started it in the beginning of summer and are done with it. I wish I had done that too.
