I was thinking an interesting battleground would be one that keeps progressing you into different environments. First you would start out in a mountainous locale with a nearby rope bridge. Should you take your fight onto the bridge, you would discover it is destructible. Then you and your opponent would fall to the river below, coincidentaly landing on a sizable flat wooden raft. Your battle continues as you float down the river until you are thrown over a waterfall into a shallow river bordered by trees. At this point there is nowhere to escape to and you must finish the battle. But the progression would depend solely on whether or not you dared to wander out onto the bridge at the beginning of the stage. Just a thought.
