  Ok, this blog post is a copyrighted poem I wrote for a RAFT in Social studies. The social studies teacher and all 8th grade L.A teachers loved it. It's a young girl's point of view of the American revolution. Please comment and enjoy!
  
  Bloody war...
  
  
  
  Many cries fall on broken ears,
  Many friends are now fallen corpses,
  Blood drops upon our broken doors,
  While the moon is tainted black,
  Walls shake when a bullet rushes past,
  I wonder how long this war will last,
  Ashes and sparks fill the sky,
  This war is here and why?,
  Because the king is blind to our pain,
  Let the blood rain from the sky,
  Hear the wolves howls cry at the moon,
  Will this war end soon?,
  Screams fill the nights with dread,
  Houses burn down when they come through,
  I watch men give it their all, but then fall,
  When will my father return?,
  When will my mom stop worrying?,
  Why? Why kill your own brothers when we all are suffering?,
  We are starving while they feast,
  No more time to waste, this is a cat's race,
  Water is harder to find and the moon's disappered,
  All of this is too real, too weird,
  A letter comes sealed with white,
  With each word read another piece of my heart breaks,
  This must end or all is lost.

  It is unbelieveable the work that you turn in. It isn't that I don't trust you but I had to go show this to our 8th grade Language Arts teachers. All I can say is: "Can I buy your first copy of your best-seller?"  I hope your parents keep feeding that fire in you!

  Souls, many lost, many found, in the soft sound of the world.
  Tear-streaked faces pray to the heavens, no hope left.
  Blood flies while the moon and sun turn deep black.
  Knifes and bullets drip with pain and suffering.
  The pain is no longer easy to hide.
  Lives disappearing in the mists.
  No explaining the things seen.
  Impossible to hide from life.
  No more mercy.
  No more love.
  Just left with foolish hopes, and pains.
  Let the water and sun heal the wounds of time.
  Let the moon dance with the waters of the life all around you.
