You put it in at Battle Settings which is accessible at the menu that shows both characters by pressing square. If you press X there, you go into the battle.

BTW, I would so kick your butt. Your combos are really short.

Combos are what help you win the game the most. I would kill you seeing how you are deficient in combos and KNJ (Substitution). BTW, how come you didn't play on Insane? It's the best mode, especially when your opponent has all the handicaps!
