I think that the best defense is a good offense, so I picked my team mostly based on their strength.
Naruto Uzumaki: Because he is the most powerful of all characters, and his ambition drives him to do better.
Kakashi Hatake: Because he has a balanced command of three jitsus, and tends to hide his feelings like a true ninja should.
Tsunade: Every team needs a "healer", which she is, but also very strong, so she would be perfect.
