hello

hey peoples, i usually blog at 1up, i'll just import blogs from there to over here.

  • persona three, i love thee

    Feb 2, 2008

    hey peeps

well, this week i started school again, all my classes seem fine so far, but i dropped the health class and went for a course called "music appreciation" instead. i just got back from the book store a short while ago, i walked since it's about 5 blocks from my house, and because parking there is freakin' impossible during this time. in the end i found the books that i needed and i was reminded just how expensive they are, but this first week also gives me the chance to get my hustle on and sell my used books to other students lol.

i think you guys already know what i'm doing gaming wise, persona 3 is the game of the moment for me right now. i'm about 23 hours in and i just wanna say, ATLUS, if you're listening, I love you. haha, atlus did a top-notch job with the localization, i love all the characters, i especially love all the S.LINK characters, they each have their own fun personalities. i sometimes spend up to 30 minutes just checking out different combinations of fusing personas in the velvet room, i got some tough-* personas man. anyway, i'm loving every bit, i wish i had the first two personas for the ps1, i think i may hunt them down. also, when i'm done with p3, i'm going back to that game stop that had a copy of nocturne and buy it.
well, that's it for now, i need to get started on homework and other things, thanks for dropping by.

  • back up in here

    Feb 1, 2008

hey friends, i know it's been a while, so i decided to write up a quick blog.

this past sunday, i went to the movies with a couple of friends and saw The Bourne Ultimatum. now i never bothered to see the first two bourne movies, but man i wish i did, the bourne ultimatum was great, oh my god the action sequences were so *ing awesome! i'm gonna have to watch the first two bourne movies now and  pretend they're prequels or something lol. anyway if you're interested, check out "http://www.deeko.com/news/?p=3491" this great review from deeko news.
i have also registered for my classes in the fall, they are as follows:
    Automotive Brake Systems
    Automotive Electrical and Lighting Accessories
    Health for Today
    Computer Networking Essentials

they should be interesting, i still need about two more books and then i'm good to go. i just hope i don't get dropped from any of those, the school has been having some problems lately with their systems, and i've already been told that i would be dropped even though i payed for them, it's ridiculous.

in gaming news, i purchased puzzle quest for the psp last week. i was going on a vacation trip with my family, and i knew i would get bored on the ride and in the hotel room so i decided to buy a new psp game. i chose to get either the sega genesis collection or puzzle quest, obviously in the end puzzle quest was the winner and i'm very satisfied. puzzle quest is a fusion of a casual game and a hardcore game, it's like bejeweled mixed with rpg elements, i know it sounds weird, but it's very satisfying. the game play is extremely addicting, you match three like gems in a row and it gives you mana that you can use to execute magic on your enemy. if you match three skulls, then it takes away health points from your enemy, some enemies are push overs while others are a pain in the *. overall though, if you own a psp, get puzzle quest, it's fantastic!
i know there is a  pc demo out there somewhere, but i can't find it at the moment.

in other gaming news, steam has launched a beta version of "https://steamcommunity.com" "The Steam Community", it's like Xbox Live, but over the pc, and it's free!
so far it's kinda buggy and slow, but it's very cool, you can join games that other friends are on with one click, you can have groups and set up events. there's even a 1up group!
i'll say this now, steam is drop kicking games for windows live in the face with this idea, i hope it's a huge success. if you don't have a steam account you can get one for free "http://www.steampowered.com/v/index.php?area=getsteamnow&cc=US".
EDIT: "http://www.gamevideos.com/video/id/13803"Here's a little something that gamevideos.com put up, it's got some neat info on the steam community.
OMG my avatar was in that video, LOLZORZ!!

  • Dream Team

    Aug 17, 2007

My Dream Team would be Itachi, Gaara, and Naruto. I picked Itachi because of of his sharingan which can be used to predict the enemies jutsu and even copy it. Itachi also has the Mangekyou sharingan which can put his enemy in a state of genjutsu that is impossible to get out of.

Next is Gaara, I chose him because of his "Ultimate Defense", of course I'm talking about his sand. Gaara would be able to defend himself from almost any type of attack.

Last is Naruto, I chose him because of his incredible stamina and chackra reserves. He would be able to continue to fight no matter what the cost. Oh, and of course his will to never give up!

    Jul 21, 2007

i ended up finishing starcraft and resident evil code veronica X. first off, RE CVX will probably go down as my least favorite resident evil, i mean it wasn't bad, but i just wasn't really feeling it. i don't know, it had some really bad voice acting, stupid characters(i.e. steve and that dude who laughs like a *), and the controls were horrendous.
next up is starcraft which is will go down as one of my all time favorite games. the final mission was quite a challenge, but after almost three hours i finally beat it, defenitely a memorable game. i haven't started brood war yet, but i plan to do so right after i'm finished with persona 3.

speaking of persona 3, it's only 6 days till release! not a day goes by that i don't think about it, can't wait, can't wait, can't wait! while waiting for P3 to come in, i was wondering which game i should play as a filler, it was a toss up between two of my personal favorite games, Half Life 2 and Resident Evil 4. in the end i decided to go with Half Life 2. i had some problems getting it to run on my pc again for some reason, but i eventually got it playing. playing it again reminded me of how awesome this game is, seriously one of the best pc games evar!
so that's it for today, thanks for visiting friends.

  • old blog

    Jul 21, 2007

just a short little update here.
a couple days ago i finished kingdom hearts, it was such a fun game, i have yet to get part 2, but i will once i get a chance. anyway, a couple days ago i went out and bought the <a href="http://www.blizzard.com/starcraft/">starcraft</a> battle chest for $10. the last time i played starcraft was back when it got ported to the n64, it was a lot of fun. i decided to buy it because i remember it being such a fun and addicting game, and the recent announcement of starcraft 2 was also part of the reason. let me say this, if you haven't played starcraft ever, give it a try, you'll will love it. since i got it, i can't seem to pry myself from playing it hours on, it's sooo addicting. now that i'm playing starcraft again i'm so hyped for starcraft 2, seeing the new footage just makes me happy.
well that's it for now, i'm supposed to be painting the back of my house this summer, but i keep procrastinating because it's so *ing hot lol.
    later   : )

just a quick little update here, i've finished off god of war, and this time around i really enjoyed it. i don't know why i didn't like it when i first played it, it really is a great game, not one of my favorites, but still great. after beating it i wanted to give the "challenge of the gods" a shot, but i only could get to level five and no further, oh well. the extras in that game are nice to see, it makes re-playing a game really worth it. overall it gave me the jones to play god of war 2, which i'll probably be buying when it gets a price cut lolz.

i've started playing resident evil code veronica x, it's a game i've had for quite a while, but never really got around to finishing the whole thing. i gotta say, after playing resident evil 4, and then going backwards to play resident evil CVX, it's pretty hard, i'm so glad they finally got the controls down with RE4, because it makes everything so much more fun and easier. if you haven't played resident evil 4 yet, then you should be ashamed of yourself :P
i'm also still playing starcraft, i'm on the zerg mission 10, after that i'll start the protoss missions. i'm thinking after i beat it i'm going to take a break before i play the brood war expansion. i still haven't played on battle.net either, i tried to join a game, but got kicked by some douche who started cursing me out in spanish, hahaha, those wacky kids.

july is almost here and i can't wait for my copy of persona 3 to ship, it comes out july 24. i've already pre-ordered mine from amazon, it comes in a special edition package which includes:

"Order Shin Megami Tensei: Persona 3 and receive the Official Art Book and Game Soundtrack FREE! The book and soundtrack are packaged with the game and available while supplies last! See stores for details."
    -Gamestop.com

i'm thinking all versions will include that bonus stuff, but not entirely sure, i hope mine does.
well, that's it for today, thanks for tuning in.
