• majin buu

  Majin Buu is introduced in the Dragon Ball Z series during the final saga called the Buu Saga. Buu is a five million year old extraterrestrial monster who has been dormant on Earth for most of his life. Due to his extreme power and ruthless nature, the wizard Bibidi had him sealed away on Earth millions of years before Dragon Ball. Bibidi's son, the wizard Babidi, would search for Buu in an attempt to revive him and continue his father's work.

  It is perhaps worth noticing, though it is not relevant to the story itself, that the names of the characters, Bibidi, Babidi and Buu (Boo) came from the song of that title from Disney's animated film Cinderella.

  Before he was sealed away, Bibidi used Majin Buu to wage war against the supreme rulers of the Universe (Kaioshin). Due to Buu's extreme power, even the Kaioshin were defenseless against his attacks. During the final battle of the war, Buu absorbed the Dai Kaioshin (God of all Kaioshin). However the Dai Kaioshin, being so pure and kind, changed Buu's heart from ruthless to innocent. It also caused Majin Buu's power level to drop substantially. The last of the Kaioshin (the East) escaped and later killed Bibidi after Buu was sealed away.^[2]

  Kid Buu is the original demon created by Bibidi^[3] and Uub is the pure good, reincarnated version of Kid Buu.^[4]

  Buu's most effective and deadly power is his uncanny ability to regenerate from extremely high levels of damage, even if his body is almost completely destroyed. This ability gave him his greatest advantage over foes who were able to damage him but not completely eliminate his malleable body. Buu can regenerate lost limbs, repair physical damage and even pull his body together after being blown into several hundred pieces or even converted to dust. This ability makes Buu virtually invincible against opponents unable to destroy and disintegrate every last molecule of Buu's body through incredibly enormous energy attacks (presumably at a level substantially higher than Buu's). It should be noted that Cell had a very similar regeneration ability, though not nearly to the degree that Buu possessed.

  Sephiroth is estimated to have been born around 30 years before the start of the game to Professor Hojo and Lucrecia Crescent of Shinra.^[7][8] At the time of Sephiroth's birth, Hojo was heavily involved in the "Jenova Project", a project spearheaded by Professor Gast that was dedicated to studying the undead remains of a humanoid named Jenova.^[9] Wishing to study the effects of Jenova's cells on a human subject, Hojo and Lucrecia volunteer their unborn son for experimentation. Sephiroth is henceforth injected with Jenova cells while still unborn.^[10]

  After his birth, Sephiroth was raised by Shinra. Although Shinra taught him that "Jenova" was his mother, they revealed to him nothing about her. Sephiroth exhibited superhuman qualities at an early age,^[11] and subsequently enlisted to become a member of SOLDIER. He took part in the war between Midgar and Wutai.^[12] A year later, Sephiroth went on an assignment with first-class SOLDIERs Zack Fair and Angeal Hewley to deal with the rogue SOLDIER, Genesis.

  Sephiroth's plan, revealed later in the Temple of the Ancients, is to drain the planet of its energy with the aid of the black materia and its cataclysmic power referred to as "Meteor." Aeris Gainsborough, the last Cetra, attempts to stop him with the white materia and its power, Holy. Aeris succeeds in summoning Holy, but Jenova, while in the appearance of Sephiroth, kills her before it can be activated. The white materia remains active, but unused. Later, Cloud procures the black materia, but is manipulated against his will into surrendering it to Sephiroth, who then summons Meteor and barricades himself inside Northern Crater, waiting for its arrival.

  In the story's climax, the Northern Cave barrier is penetrated by Shinra's mako cannon, allowing Cloud and his party to descend into the crater for a final confrontation. Sephiroth manifests himself as "Bizzaro Sephiroth" and attacks. Upon being weakened, he transforms again into "Safer Sephiroth", a bizzare angelic figure. After being defeated again, Sephiroth's spirit makes a final mental assault upon Cloud within the Lifestream. However, Cloud has already rediscovered himself and Sephiroth is unable to attack. Cloud easily dispatches Sephiroth and leaves the Lifestream.^[13]

• kisame hoshigaki

  Kisame Hoshigaki (?????, Hoshigaki Kisame^?) is a missing-nin from Kirigakure and is partnered with Itachi Uchiha. He gets along considerably better with Itachi than most Akatsuki members do with their own partners, immediately doing as Itachi asks of him and always looking out for Itachi's well-being. His former country, the Land of Water, now seeks him out for plotting to overthrow its government and being involved in numerous assassinations.^[20] When he was still loyal to Kirigakure, he was one of the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist, a group of ninja that wield particularly large weapons in battle.^[21] Kisame's weapon is called Samehada (??, "shark skin"), a scale-covered sword that shaves off skin instead of cutting and is capable of absorbing untold amounts of chakra. Samehada only allows Kisame to wield it; if anyone else tries to pick it up, spikes protrude from its handle and it returns to Kisame's side.^[22] Like other characters who have trained to be one of the Seven Swordsmen, Kisame enjoys mutilating his opponents, as seen when he suggests cutting off Naruto Uzumaki's legs to make him easier to carry.^[23]

  Kisame has a distinctive shark-like appearance, complete with pale blue skin, small white eyes, gill-like facial structures, and sharp triangular teeth. Even his name, Kisame (??), means "demon shark". His shark-like qualities carry over to the type of techniques he uses in battle, as he often shapes bodies of water into the forms of sharks that proceed to attack opponents.^[24][25] If there is no water source where he happens to be fighting, Kisame can use Water Release: Exploding Water Shockwave (???????, Suiton: Bakusui Sh?ha^?) to create a lake's worth of water to be used for attacks.^[26] Kisame is also noted to have a particularly large reserve of chakra; even when he fights at 30% power in one instance his chakra supply is compared to that of a Nine-Tailed Demon Fox-enhanced Naruto Uzumaki.^[27]
