Basics

  1. Search syntax is similar to Google searches.
  2. Words shorter than 4 characters are ignored.

Phrase Searches

Negative Terms

If your search term has more than one meaning (bass, for example, could refer to fishing or music) you can focus your search by putting a minus sign ("-") in front of words related to the meaning you want to avoid. For example, here's how you'd find pages about bass-heavy lakes, but not bass-heavy music: bass -music

    As we know the Tailed Beasts are  huge concentrations of chakra , some have been revealed some not in terms of appearance. Ever since Kishi didn't follow the rule(the 3-tail post be a a shark and 8-tails a Snake but kishi had other ideas), it makes you wonder what the already sealed tailed beasts look like and their abilities. After looking at the 9th anniversary pic and think for a bit I have come up with my own thoughts as too the abilities and what animal these tailed beats are.I will also include already revealed Tail beats as well.



    How I come up with the animals and abilities:

    I look at the manga, anime, and pics of the Tailed-beasts and Jinchuriki. I based my theory also by what they look like and what they are wearing. For example Gaara he wears a gourd full of sand that indicates what Tailed-Tail Beast is inside of him and its abilities. Its seems Jinchuriki fashion themselves based on their Tail-beasts powers

    1-Tail:

    Animal:A Tanuki(Racoon-Dog)

    Abilities: Sand(presuming Sand is an fusion element Earth as well) and Wind.

    Why I say that? Revealed in Manga.

    2-Tail:

    Animal:Nekomata(Forked Cat)

    Abilities: Fire

    Why I say that? I cat seems to be engulfed by Spectral flames.Plus it shot a fire blast at Hidan.

    3-Tail:

    Animal:Turtle with Shrimp Tails.

    Abilities:Water and an unnamed Genjutsu Mist(anime only)

    Why I say that? It was found in a lake, the anime gave it water based abilities. Plus Tobi said that Kisame was a better pick than him to capture it because of its Water based abilities.

    4-Tail:

    Animal: Rooster or Quail

    Abilities:Lava

    Why I say that? Revealed in Manga and Data books. I say Rooster because his hair style and hair color reminds me of the crown of a rooster(the hair of the rooster)(9th anniversary pic). I say Quail because the marking on his face seems to resemble the quails.

    5-Tail:

    Animal:Armadillo

    Abilities: Steam/Smoke

    Why I say that? In the 9th anniversary pic he seems to be wearing a red looking armadillo plated armor. As for his abilities his gourd is spewing steam/smoke form it.

    6-Tail:

    Animal: Weasel

    Abilities:Bubbles

    Why I say that? In the 9th Anni pic his eyes are Slanted like a weasels. As for his abilities he is shown blowing bubbles which could indicate a particular style of water justu.

    7-Tail:

    Animal: Pigeon

    Abilities:Cloth or Paper

    Why I say that? Her eyes are the same shape as a pigeon and looks like one too(eyes wise).Also there seems to be something covered with a cloth on her back. It could be the fuel for her justu like Gaara.

    8-Tail:

    Animal:Ushi-Oni(Ox Octopus Hybrid)

    Abilities:Chakra Blasts, Genjutsu dispelling.

    Why I say that?Revealed in Manga and data books.

    9-Tail:

    Animal:Fox

    Abilities:Infinite Chakra, chakra blasts, and Tsunami and Mountain crushing with its tails.

    Sounds interesting but also the 9th anniversary pic can not be considered canon (least not in my mind) as in the manga not all the Tailed beasts had hosts. I don't remember which beast was which but the one Tobi had to defeat (along side deidara) had not host, and we don't know how many else did not have a host. I think the 9th anniversary picture just showed what the ninja's would have looked like if they all had been hosts (besides the ones that really do)

    The pic can be considered cannon because it was made by the manga athuor infact the third data book had info on the 4th one, his name and jutsu style. The pic showed who were the hosts before the akasuki caught them. As for the 3-tails it obivously escape from its host, sorry but the pics cannon.

    Edit: Plus Deidara stated himslef that before he got Gaara that the previous Jinkchuriki were loners and given up by their own ninja village. Read the manga before posting please.

    Well, the nekomatas are mythical beasts that exist outside of the Naruto universe (just like the raccoon-dog and the nine tailed fox).  Nekomatas are devious little creatures that are said to be able to bring dead people back to life just by hopping over their corpse.  A lot of myths involve nekomatas growing to be 5 feet tall, with fur or maigns of fire.  They can make fireballs appear as well.  According to the legends, a fully matured nekomata can even walk on its hind legs and even shape shift into a human (some outrageous stories involve a nekomata killing the woman of the house and taking her place).

    Actually, the reasons behind these myths are very sad.  Mice and other rodents would plauge crops on farms - so cats were used by farmers to keep the fields from harm.  Over time, people saw cats drinking the oil used in lanterns.  Because the oil was the fuel for a flame lantern - people thought the cats would drink it to keep a fire burning in their stomach/throat.  If the cat grew two tails they had turned into a nekomata - so people would cut off the tails of their cats if they saw the cat drinking from the lantern oil.

    The sad part is oil back then was made from fish.  So it was kind of dumb to think that a cat wouldn't smell the fish and want to drink it.



    Anyway, nekomatas are awesome little mythical beasts.  Definitly worth researching if you have more time.

    Lol, same with the three-tails, its is said to be the spirit of an sea turtle kill be fisherman or something, infact the current arc in shippuden covers the three-tails.
