NAMCO BANDAI Games America Inc., recently announced plans for free downloadable content for NARUTO™: Ultimate Ninja® STORM. From the week of the game’s retail launch on November 4, 2008 through March 2009, new support characters such as the infamous Sound Four and original single player missions will be made available for download on a regular basis, giving players even more ways to fight and explore in the world of ninja.
The following support characters, each accompanied by an additional single player mission, will be available for free download from the PLAYSTATION®Network for the PLAYSTATION 3 system on the dates below:
• November 6, 2008: Shizune
• December 4, 2008: Asuma
• December 18, 2008: Kurenai
• January 8, 2009: Anko
• January 22, 2009: Jirobo
• February 5, 2009: Kidoumaru
• February 19 2009: Tayuya
• March 5, 2009: Sakon
“With the huge cast of characters and massively detailed storyline offered by the NARUTO franchise, NARUTO: Ultimate Ninja STORM is perfect for downloadable content, giving us the opportunity to continue to build upon the core of the game long after it is released in stores,” said Todd Thorson, director of marketing and public relations at NAMCO BANDAI Games America, Inc. “Packed with fan-favorite characters and fun new single player missions, this content will always be free and will further add to the depth and scope of this already impressive title.”
A gift that keeps on giving! Also, please remember that the 1st Hokage and 2nd Hokage will be available starting November 6th as the Playstation Network is updated every Thursday.

no guys its not even dlc. Thats a cheap way to call it. You want the real truth? Well the real truth is that these support characters are already built into the storm game. We just can't use them outside of ultimate mission mode. These so called "DLCs" are only little codes that let us use the characters that are already put into the game in the versus mode. Its nothing thats outside of the game.
Thats so lame for people who dont have PS3s' i mean its a great feature but for people not getting a ps3 in a while r reaslly going to miss out and sadly im in that group
buth the game will still be cool but being that the story only goes to sasuke and naruto fight it kinda sucks that the best fighters from that ark are not going to be playeble characters, but as i said before the game will be great
Who cares if it's on the disk already or not, at least it's FREE! Just be thankfull for that. They could have charged $$ for it

the hokages are not free, they are just saying that u will be able to download them the 6th, if u have the code that is....
I hope they make Zabuza and Haku as actual playable characters (just throwing that out there)
Oh and for those of us who 1. don't have GameCrazy's near us and 2. aren't going to preorder the same game twice will hopefully be able to get the 2nd hokage somehow...
THERE IS NO ZABUZA AND HAKU. THEY SKIPPED OVER THE WHOLE ARC AND WENT STRAIGHT TO THE CHUNIN EXAMS.

They just decided. hey how bout instead of having no dlc, we take out some support characters already in the game. and make people wait for them to come out? Thats literally what it is. I mean hopefully they'll have more dlc, but since they're already on the disk, i'll be playing with them as support characters from day 1. Since i can easily hack them to be selectable without the code from the DLC. Yay me. and the code to do this will also be available probably from the first week. So "big" naruto fans. look out for that.
i'm glad they are free to download but i wish they were playable but even so, they will probably do good as support characters.
We are getting 10 free support characters that they couls easily cost 5 to 10 bucks a pop. The fact that they are FREE only means that they will release them has support, if they was playable than it would be more likely they will cost 10-20 dollars a pop each. Stop whining about things you can't control. Maybe by luck all you people that want Haku and Zabuza in the game they will release those as support characters to.
WELL AS OF RIGHT NOW THSE 8 ARE THE ONLY PLANS AT THE MOMENT. MAYBE AFTER THEY FINISH THEN THEY COULD HAVE THEM AS DLC AND PLAYABLE.
So what if they're just support characters? In the demo, I would rarely be able to land my ultimate jutsu on the opponent without them! I won't ever use any of those support characters, but still, never underestimate them.

i hope that I can get a PS3 for Christmas so I can play Storm too:). and yeah who cares if they are support characters? they are for free so be thankful for that.

before i thought you would only get to play as chunnin exam characters (mostly genin.) So this news brought exstravagant music to my ears. *happy sigh*

that really sucks. they should have just included them in the game as playable characters, well at least the sound 4. After all its gunna affect the story line.

I checked too. They arenthere either. I also can't get the First Hokage voucher to work. I typed it in exactly. I called Gamestop and they said that the card might not be activated yet. Did any of you get your vouchers to work?
